Solar Control Films The use of glass as a structural element can lead to problems with solar heat gain. Tinted glass does little more than change the appearance of the glass, while blinds only keep out the light. Solar heat gain can lead to uncomfortable working temperatures and higher air conditioning running costs. In summer, about 20% of the cooling energy load in commercial properties is from reducing unwanted solar heat gain. But by installing Llumar® solar control film, typical temperature reductions of 8°C can be achieved. In addition, the films block out over 99% of UV radiation (one of the major causes of fading). The range includes reflective, semi-reflective, dual-reflective, neutral tinted and colour tinted finishes to change the appearance of the building. Reflective finishes can also provide privacy and one-way vision (when combined with the correct lighting levels). For more detailed information, download this technical information sheet. |
